Non c pace per la leggenda del ciclismo Eddy Merckx, ricoverato da una settimana per curare uninfezione allanca. Lex corridore belga dovr sottoporsi al settimo intervento chirurgico in poco pi di un anno, dal post incidente a dicembre 2024, quando cadde in bici scivolando su un passaggio a livello e si frattur lanca. A riferirlo il quotidiano belga Het Laatste Nieuws che riporta anche le parole del Cannibale. A causa del forte dolore, sono stato ricoverato in ospedale luned scorso ha detto Merckx al giornale fiammingo -. I medici non riescono a individuare la fonte dellinfezione e, dato che gli antibiotici non sono molto efficaci, dovranno operarmi di nuovo luned prossimo. A ottobre 2019, il belga era stato vittima di un altro incidente in bicicletta, con conseguenze serie: in quella occasione, durante unuscita con un gruppo di amici nei dintorni di Gent, Merckx aveva riportato un trauma cranico e diversi danni alla schiena, allanca e alle ginocchia.
